Not Alone is a weekly show, focusing on all things mysterious and unexplained. Blending historical perspective and the paranormal, Sam and Jason pit hard facts and evidence against belief and intuition, while keeping the spotlight on the story. Covering the stories that have kept you up since childhood, and exposing you to the secret terrors that have been pushed out of the light and hidden away within the heavy, wooden box in the downstairs closet your father made you swear never to open, we strive to cover a variety of topics that will interest the True Believer and Diehard Skeptic alike. We hope you’ll enjoy peeling back the layers of reality to discover the truth of the world around us, and, until next time, remember: We Are Not Alone.
They’re kind of like the Siskel & Ebert of things strange. You can tell they really enjoy what they do, and are genuine enthusiasts of the genre. The material is well-researched, and even if you are already familiar with some of subjects, they invariably add something you didn’t know.Mark DoughtyListener
I’m not a paranormal guy, but other podcasters I trust like this show a lot so I gave it a shot. It is definitely entertaining but what appeals to me is that it is so detail oriented. From topographical features of the environment to the hind-leg biology of weird werewolves, few stones are left unturned. Solid podcast.Matt93454Listener
As a lover of the paranormal and history, I find this podcast so interesting. I love all of the historical insight in each episode. I always learn something new with each episode. I love the humor and the fun Sam and Jason seem to have with this. Keep up the great work guys!OzDefender27Listener
Sam and Jason give the perfect blend of creepy and funny with their in depth episodes. The topics are always fascinating and the two make a team that is very enjoyable to listen to. The mysteries that remain unsolved, some with underlying supernatural occurrences, are often spooky, but I feel myself moving from one episode to another, being unable to stop listening!MJoAlexenListener
Sam Fredrickson was born in Keizer, Oregon, and has been obsessed with the paranormal ever since his first brush with the unexplainable, at 6 years old, watching a UFO from the window of his parent’s Astro Van. He knows, just knows, that there is something out there, and it may or may not be watching him. Sam will be pursuing a degree in History from the College of Western Idaho in the fall, in Boise, where he lives with his wife, Caitie, and their miniature dachshund Baron. He hopes one day to learn something no one else knows, and then promptly tell everyone all about it. Though his true believer faith can get a little too real at times, and the fact that he believes every house is a haunted house, he tries his best to keep a good head on his shoulders and stay focused on the here and now, as well as the somewhere and sometime long ago. His love of history forces him to look for the truth in every situation and, to quote the great Dan Carlin, Sam finds himself ‘Addicted to Context’, doing his best to provide a rich and vibrant view of the people, places, and events they cover. He spends his off-days getting his butt kicked at Magic the Gathering by Jason and obsessing over how his internet search history will be interpreted when he finally goes missing without a trace. Sam also patiently awaits the day he can haunt the living daylights out of his co-host in the life after.
Jason Moitoso grew up in sunny central California, born in the small town of Turlock where he and his family enjoyed an active lifestyle of skiing and tennis. In his early days his imagination was captured by tales of dinosaurs and dragons. Growing up he stayed glued to the television screen whenever his hero, Steve Irwin the crocodile hunter, was airing as exotic creatures of all types entranced him. A love for mythological creatures of Ancient Greek culture also had a hand of shaping his imagination. He may have wished on a few birthday cakes for a pet dragon of his own with no such luck. After high school he moved to Boise, ID to attend college at Boise State, and through a long progress of stubborn and down right poor life decisions has found himself along side Sam, co-hosting a podcast that forces him to break down some of the natural and supernatural phenomena that help shape our culture and legends. He finally did get his dragon as well, a breaded dragon, Rocco, although he has yet to show signs of forming wings. As someone the thirsts for glimpses into the past he also has fish who’s species hasn’t changed for the last 50 million years. Nowadays Sam forces him not only to ask how and why, but to search for those very answers. In the name of the podcast he has also found a rekindled passion for creating art depicting our very topics. His favorite thing about being on the Not Alone team is how we explain witness accounts the later become local legends.
