Scott Philbrook was born near Death Valley, California where his dad worked on top secret wing weapons for the A-6 Intruder and the F-4D Phantom at China Lake Naval Base. He’s always had a fascination with the unexplained and takes great pleasure in discussing it at length with his long time friend Forrest, who’s mind is a repository of seemingly trivial information that might save your life in the event of the apocalypse. Scott doesn’t believe the end is near, but he does drive a heavily modified Jeep Rubicon that can be ready to bug out in twenty minutes and provide safe habitat for his family for several weeks without resupply. While Scott takes a skeptical approach to the mysteries of this life, he thinks mankind has only just scratched the surface of understanding the universe and is humbled by what he feels we all don’t know.
Forrest Burgess was born and raised in the Eastern Washington/Northern Idaho region of the United States. Although the general area lays claim to its fair share of Fortean legends and anomalies like Bigfoot, Ogopogo and the occasional UFO, he has experienced none of it… so far. The more he has learned about the unusual, the more he has come to believe that nothing is impossible, although it can certainly be improbable.
Forrest wants to know what’s behind the curtain. He wants to, respectfully, know the secrets of the universe, or at least what he’s allowed to know. He wants to know what are the things that we can’t see, can’t know, or can’t understand; the mysteries of life forgotten by time and ignored by most. How do these things happen, why do they happen and what is the purpose? He would like to know why things that shouldn’t happen, happen. Apart from that, there is no information available on him prior to 1998.
Marc hails from Northern California. He grew up on the harsh streets of a town called Pleasant Hill, where as a teenager he worked at a video store frequented by a Manson Family member. Pleasant Hill was tougher than it sounds…ok, maybe it wasn’t. Anyway, he’s always been obsessed with movies, especially horror. Socially awkward, but lovable, he is always up for an adventure. He doesn’t believe in ghosts, but still wants to meet one. Hopefully a female.
Ryan McCullough was born in Tennessee but has spent most of his adult life bouncing around to all four corners of the United States, playing music, and learning all about the local myths and legends that make up the surrounding areas. Armed with a keen ear and his trusty microphone, he’s always up for the sonic challenges that Scott and Forrest have in store for him. No object in his house is safe. If it makes a sound, he’s probably gonna bang on it.
Tess is a native Delawarean and current D.C transplant hell-bent on experiencing life, and all of its quirks, to the fullest. You can often find her in a library or local coffee shop with a book in her hand and, more importantly, a notebook. Research is her weapon of choice and she wields it against the masses of nay-sayers and non-believers with zeal. Even if the mysterious turns out to be the not-so-mysterious she still stands firmly behind her love of the chase; because getting there is half the fun. The more legends, myths, and cryptic mysteries she studies, the less she knows…and she’s oddly okay with that
